Join the Hatchery for 2Q!

Why we do it

Michele and I edit books, but we also try to do more than that. We aim to empower writers to not only put out great books, but also to hone their craft. Isn’t discovery and learning a huge part of the fun of having a passion? We think so!

That’s why we created the Hatchery last year. Each quarter, we host an online space for writers to gather and spend focused time working on their author careers. We want to motivate you to keep writing, keep making progress. Everything counts. Many members use the time to write and edit, but anything writing-related is fair game!

How it works

We meet twice a week via Zoom for a whole quarter. Either Michele or I host; most of the time both of us are there. Each session starts with a mini-lesson – we’ll speak on a writing-related topic for a few minutes, or keep it open for a quick AMA. Then we get down to business and run two thirty-minute focus sessions, during which we keep the chat open so you can ask questions or just keep in touch with fellow group members. And if I’m online, I’ll offer optional chair yoga stretches during the break!

Each week we send out a recap email that covers what we discussed in our AMA or mini-class at the start of each session.

The details

Our Q2 cohort will start April 7 and run through June 30. We meet Tuesdays 10:00 – 11:20 a.m. Central Time, and Thursdays 7:00 – 8:20 p.m. Central Time. If you can’t make every session, no worries – join us when you can.

The cost is $75 for the entire quarter. What a deal!

Enrollment is now open! Membership is capped at 15 so if you’re interested, fill out our application, which gets you on the waiting list. If you’re approved, we’ll send you an invoice and you’ll receive Zoom links before the start of the first session on April 7.
